Detroit Lakes Tornado Assistance Available

DETROIT LAKES, MN—People who lost their homes in the Detroit Lakes tornado earlier this month can get some financial help. Homeowners and renters affected by the July 6 tornado in Detroit Lakes can get some money, thanks to a $20,000 grant from Minnesota Realtors.  That grant will offer up to a thousand dollars to qualified homeowners to help cover immediate recovery needs, like temporary housing and property damage costs.  These grants are available only to an applicant’s primary residence.  To get an application, go online to https://mnrealtor.com  Applications must be in by September 9th. That July 6 tornado in Detroit Lakes was an EF2 with winds of about 115 miles per hour.  It damaged hundreds of homes, mainly in the Big Floyd Lake area.
