Dr Ashok Chanda discusses sugarbeet disease trials 

The Northwest Research and Outreach Center (NWROC) held their annual Crop & Soil Day last week, and area producers heard from a number of different researchers including MN Extension Sugarbeet Specialist Dr Ashok Chanda, who talked more about his current trials with R&J Ag Reporter Nick Revier. 

Chanda says they are seeing a vast amount of cercospora leaf spot in the Red River Valley, which highlights the importance of having a disease prevention at the start of the season. 

Chanda says it has been very quiet in Extension’s diagnostic lab, and he encourages any area growers with samples to send them into the lab.
