Eastern North Dakota coyote population increases, fishing season slower than usual
Over the last couple decades, the Eastern North Dakota coyote population has taken off, causing the North Dakota Game and Fish to promote hunting opportunities for them. North Dakota Game and Fish Game Warden Drew Johnson says this year’s population seemed higher than normal, but participation in the season is higher.
Johnson said the fur market is one of the main reasons for the population increase.
Lastly Johnson talked about how the 2024/2025 ice fishing season went, as it has mostly come to a close in most parts of the state.
More information on upcoming hunting and fishing seasons can be seen on the North Dakota Game and Fish website at gf.nd.gov.
