Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center named a top 100 rural hospital
Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center is proud to again be named one of the top 100 rural and community hospitals in the U.S. by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. St. Joseph’s was also recognized in 2020.
The annual list recognizes excellence in rural health care. “Amidst uncertainty, transition and strain, these top performers are excelling in managing risk, achieving higher quality, securing better outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction, and operating at a lower cost than their peers,” according to Chartis, which provides advisory services and analytics to the health care industry.
“This recognition highlights our commitment to delivering the highest quality health care in the Brainerd Lakes area,” said Mike Larson, senior vice president of operations at Essentia Health. “Our patients expect and deserve the very best, and that’s what motivates our care teams at St. Joseph’s.”
Chartis measures performance in eight areas to rank hospitals — quality; outcomes; patient perspective; cost; charge; inpatient market share; outpatient market share; and financial efficiency.
