6AA 1st Round Pillager at Pequot Lakes
Preview
The #4 seed Pequot Lakes swept their way into the 2nd round of the 6AA tournament, eliminating #13-seed Pillager.
The Huskies hung around in game one but the Patriots scored the final four points to take the set 25-15.
Pequot Lakes then put the pedal down, controlling sets two and three with tough serving and solid hitting, not allowing Pillager to gain any momentum. The Patriots rolled 25-9 in set two and finished with a 25-6 set three win.
The Patriots tallied 10 ace serves on their way to their 20th win (20-9) of the year as they will host round two on Thursday.
Pillager finished the year 14-13, the first time since 2010 that they finished with a winning record. The Huskies will graduate just four seniors.
