The Red Lake Warriors hit 14 three pointers  and went on to defeat the Win-E-Mac Patriots 96-88 in the Section 8A Quarterfinals in Thief River Falls. Gerald Kingbird Jr. led the Warriors with 32 points and 9 rebounds. Jack Brown connected on 7 three pointers for Red Lake and ended up with 29 points. Justin Courneya led Win-E-Mac with 32 points while Ryan Kangas added 22 points and 23 rebounds for the Patriots. Courneya and Kangas both fouled out of the game. The game was tied at 88-88 with 48 seconds left in the game but Red Lake scored the final 8 points in the game. The two teams combined for 25 three pointers. The Patriots had won at Red Lake 89-75 back on February 10th. Win-E-Mac ends their season at 21-7 and had their seven game winning streak come to an end. The Patriots shot 17-22 at the free throw line while Red Lake was 9-17 at the stripe. Red Lake improves to 21-7 and will face Mahnomen/Waubun for the East Sub-Section Championship next Wednesday at 7:45 pm.
