The Ada A’s won their seventh game in a row Wednesday as they scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Moorhead Brewers 7-6 at Tony Sipe Field.
In the bottom of the ninth, Beau Fetting led off with a walk, the next two batters struck out, then Austin McCraven walked. Braiden Fetting hit a hard grounder to third that went past third baseman Adam Leininger for an error that allowed Beau Fetting to score the winning run.
The Brewers took the lead in the first inning on a solo homer by Jordan Leininger. The A’s tied it in the third inning on a Nick Johnson ground out. Ada took a 2-1 lead when Braiden Fetting singled home Jake Osowski.
Moorhead grabbed the lead in the sixth inning on a two run single by Jackson Gleinke and a single by Chris Clemenson to put the Brewers up 4-2.
In the seventh inning, the A’s regained the lead with 4 runs; 3 of them coming on a bases loaded double by Braiden Fetting to get a 6-4 lead.
The Brewers got a run back in the eighth inning on a Dave Ernst rbi single to make it 6-5. Then they tied it in the ninth when Caden Headlee led off with a home run.
For the A’s, Braiden Fetting went 4 for 5 with 4 rbi and a run scored. Jake Osowski was 2 for 2 with a run scored. Beau Fetting was the winning pitcher in relief; in 3 innings, he allowed 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks and a hit batter.
Caden Headlee was 3 for 5 for the Brewers (9-7) with 2 runs scored and an rbi. Chris Clemenson and Dave Ernst were both 2 for 4 with an rbi. Ernst took the loss, going 3 2/3 innings, allowing 3 hits, 5 runs (0 earned runs), 2 walks, 7 strikeouts, a hit batter and 2 wild pitches.
