Roseau’s bats struck early and often in the first two innings Saturday at Tony Sipe Field in Ada. The Royals scored ten runs as they went on to defeat the Ada A’s 12-1 in 5 innings.
With two out in the first, the next 7 Roseau batters reached base, resulting in 4 runs. Ada responded with a single run in their half of the first on a Jake Osowski ground out.
The Royals put the game away in the second inning with 6 more runs. Danny Wensloff hit a 2-run homer, then later in the inning, his cousin Eli Wensloff doubled to bring in 2 more. Eli Wensloff was 2 for 3 on the day with a run scored and 3 batted in.
Meanwhile, the A’s managed just 3 hits all game. Tyler Brown and Eli Wensloff combined for the Roseau victory. Brown was also 2 for 3 at the plate with 2 rbi.
Nick Johnson took the loss for Ada (3-4). In 2 innings, he allowed 7 hits, 10 runs, 4 walks, 3 hit batters, 2 wild pitches and 3 strikeouts. Mike Erickson pitched the final 3 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs with a wild pitch.
