In a game of great defensive effort for both teams, Ada-Borup-West pulled out a 42-40 victory at Fertile-Beltrami Friday night.   The largest lead of the game was five points for Ada-Borup-West and four points for Fertile-Beltrami. There were seven ties, the eighth  lead change was the games final two points on two free throws by Morgan Engel with 2.8 seconds to play.  The visiting Cougars tied the game at 40-40, ( score ties at 34, 36, 38, 40) with :55 seconds remaining.  Fertile-Beltrami was unable to score on their possession, the Cougars final possession had a missed shot, rebound, loose ball, before the ball was passed to Engel who drove to the basket and was fouled.   Two free throws later, the Cougars had the lead. Fertile-Beltrami slips to 11-5. Ada-Borup-West is 7-7 and ends a three game losing streak.
