Morgan Engel scored 24 points as the Ada-Borup-West Cougars won at Fosston 46-29 on Friday night. The Greyhounds hit a three pointer to start the second half to make it a one point lead for the Cougars at 22-21 but Ada-Borup-West would go on a 13-0 run to make it 35-21 and would never look back. Engel was a perfect 10 for 10 at the free throw line and the Cougars shot 18 of 24 at the stripe in the game. Morgan Smart scored 10 points and Brianne Myers added 7 points for the Cougars as they won their third straight game and improve to 11-6 overall and 7-4 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Brielle Duppong and Miley Hove each scored 9 points for Fosston as the Greyhounds suffered their second straight loss and fall to 11-7 overall and 7-3 in the conference. Lexi Mahlen scored 8 points for Fosston before fouling out of the game with 12:57 remaining. Ada-Borup-West won the “B” Squad game (1/2) over Fosston 23-10.
