VB Ada-Borup-West 3 at Fosston 0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-22)

Malayna Syverson led Ada-Borup-West with 17 kills as the Cougars won in straight sets (25-17, 25-21 & 25-22) at Fosston on Thursday night. The Cougars jumped out to a 17-4 lead in the first set and never looked back as they won 25-17. Morgan Engel added 6 kills and had 4 service aces for the Cougars as they improve to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Audrina Eggen pitched in with 4 kills and 2 service aces for Ada-Borup-West.  Hatty Quam led the Greyhound attack with 10 kills as Fosston falls to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference. Emma Howard added 8 kills and Ava Hayes 6 kills for Fosston. The Greyhounds had 9 service errors while the Cougars only had 3 errors at the line. Ada-Borup-West won the “B” Squad match 25-20 & 25-17 while Fosston won the “C” Squad match 26-24 & 25-19. The Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, September 16th when they host the Bagley Flyers (106.5 FM & YLE). The Greyhounds will also play their next match on Tuesday, September 16th when they host the Roseau Rams (1480-AM/99.7 FM). The Ada-Borup-West Junior Varsity will be playing in a JV Tournament this Saturday at D-G-F.
