GBB Ada-Borup-West at Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal

Ada-Borup-West made four free throws in the final :18 seconds to hold off Norman County East/Ulen HItterdal ( NCEUH) 72-69 Tuesday night.   Their were 9 ties and 20 lead changes throughout the game.  The two teams traded field goals for 11 lead changes in the first half with NCEUH leading 37-36 at halftime. NCEUH had a 10-0 run in the first half erasing an early Cougar six point lead.  Early in the second half, NCEUH had an 8-0 run to lead 47-40 with14:37 to play. That was the game’s largest lead. The two teams were tied five more times before Ada-Borup-West took the lead for good at 58-55 on a Morgan Engel 3-point field goal with seven minutes to play.  The final tie was at 65-65 with 1:44 to play.  Ada-Borup-West made 5 of 6 free throws and a field goal to hold off the Titans in the final ninety seconds including Sarah Prodzinski ( :18 to play) and Morgan Smart (:04 to play)each going 2 of 2 from the free throw line.  The Titans did have a steal with :01 remaining but didn’t get off the shot from halfcourt before the end of game buzzer sounded.    NCEUH had four players in double figures with Brenna Olson leading all scorers with 25 including five 3-point field goals.  Ada-Borup-West also had four players in double figures as they won their fifth consecutive game improving to 12-3 on the season.  NCEUH is now 5-13 on the season.  Ada-Borup -West will host top ten ranked Fosston Thursday.  NCEUH travels to Win-E-Mac Thursday.
