Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal 12, Ada-Borup-West 2

Every batter in the Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal lineup had at least one hit as the Titans defeated Ada-Borup-West 12-2 Tuesday, spoiling the Cougars’ home opener.

The Titans scored twice in the second inning, three times in the third, twice in the fourth and five times in the fifth inning.  The Cougars scored twice in the fifth inning, but weren’t able to bring in another run that would have kept the game alive.  Instead, NCE-UH wins via the ten run rule.

Zech Juarez homered to start the fifth inning uprising and was 2 for 3 with 2 rbi.  Cade Bentley was also 2 for 3 with 3 rbi for the Titans (4-1).

Senior Reed Klemetson got the victory (2-0), allowing four hits and seven walks, plus five strikeouts over four and two-thirds innings.  Drew Jacobson got the final out for the Titans.

Wyatt Larson had three of the Cougars five hits and drove in a run.  Cannon Anderson had a bases loaded walk to score the other run for ABW (2-3).

Baron Odden took the loss (0-1), going four innings giving up eight hits, seven runs (five earned runs), with two walks and two strikeouts.  Brennen Fetting pitched the fifth inning, allowing five hits, five runs (three earned runs), with a walk and one strikeout.

Ada-Borup-West will host Northern Freeze Thursday at 2pm in a game you can hear on KRJB 106.5.  Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal travels to Fertile-Beltrami on Thursday.
