Ada-Borup-West vs Bagley

In this high scoring affair, there were only two scoreless innings. Both teams were able to score a run in the first, but Ada-Borup-West forced Bagley to play from behind after plating 4 runs in the top of the second, 3 of which came across thanks to one of two inside the ballpark homeruns by Avery Johnson, this one brought in 3 of those 4 runs. Johnson’s second inside the ballpark homerun came in the 4th inning to give the Cougars a 6-1 lead. The Flyers wouldn’t go away queitly as the bats made plenty of noise in the bottom of the 4th. They scored 5 runs to tie it 6-6, and was capped off by another inside the ballpark homerun that brought in 3 runs by Emme Ekre. The Cougars again but a big number on the scoreboard in the 6th after plating 4 more to take the 10-6 lead. Flyers scored one in the bottom of the inning to make it a 3 run deficit. In the final stanza, Ada-Borup-West continued to score as they got two more to make it 12-7. The Flyers scored one run off a broken play after a lineout to short and found themselves down 4 with with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd. Three straight RBI singles suddenly made it 12-11, which brought up Emme Skarison who worked a full count with a runner on second, but Ellidi Dahl got her 10th strikeout of the game to close it out.

Avery Johnson went 3-3 with 4 RBI’s and also walked twice, helping Ada-Borup-West improve to 3-2 matching their win total from last year. The Cougars scored 12 runs on 13 hits and left 8 runners on base. Ellidi Dahl got the complete game win.

Emme Ekre led the Flyers at the plate also going 3-3 with 3 RBI’s. The Flyers fall to 2-2 on the season. Bagley scored 11 runs on 13 hits and left 4 runners on base. Harlea Schuppert was the losing pitcher in 3 innings of relief for Mazie Hoie, both allowed 6 runs.
