Ada-Borup-West vs Fertile-Beltrami

After the game was originally postponed last week, the field ended up being in good enough shape to play the season opener for both Ada-Borup-West and Fertile-Beltrami. Ada-Borup-West took no time to wake up the bats as they plated 4 runs in the top of the first thanks to an RBIs from Adeliza Bitker and Leighton Odden, and 2 from Madelyn Nelson. It could have been even more as they had the bases loaded with one out.

In the bottom of the first, Fertile-Beltrami was able to cut the lead back to 3 after Aubryn Johnson was able to bring MiMi Johnson home.

The Cougars were able to score a run in both the 2nd and 3rd as well to grow the lead up to 6-1. Thats where the score remained until the bottom of the 5th when the Falcons tried to make their comeback. With two outs and a runner on 3rd, Aubryn Johnson delivered an RBI triple, which was immediately followed up by an RBI single from Britta Sorenson to make it 6-3.

The Cougars then immediately showed their prowess as they hit 6 straight singles and by the time the inning was over, just like that it was 13-3. The Falcons were unable to get any runs across in the bottom of the 6th, so with the 10 run lead, the game was done and Ada-Borup-West starts their season 1-0.
