Ada-Borup-West vs. Henning

The Henning Hornets claimed the Sub-Section 6A North Championship with a 71-69 win over the Ada-Borup-West Cougars. The Hornets were able to start fast in and open the game on an 8-2 run before the Cougars interior scoring tied the game at 12-12 with just over tweleve minutes left in the first half. The teams would trade buckets the next few minutes before the Hornets took a 26-24 lead with five minutes remaining before halftime and eventually ended the first half leading 36-30. Starting the second half the Hornets would again start strong with a 7-0 run putting them ahead by 13-points in the opening minutes. The Cougars would spend the second half clawing their way back against the deficit. The Hornets would continue to find a way to score both inside and outside anytime the Cougars brought the lead close, and made their final six free throw attempts to close out the game to keep it a multiple possession game up until a Cougar three-pointer brought it to the final score at 71-69 with just over a second remaining, but with the Cougars spending their timeouts in their comeback attempt they were left without a way to stop the clock as the Hornets watched the last second tick off without needing to inbound the ball.
