Ada-Borup-West vs Henning

The Henning Hornets emerged victorious over the previously unbeaten Ada-Borup-West Cougars 63-61 in overtime. Neither team trailed by more than six points at any point in the game and they both battled back and forth with 13 ties and 14 lead changes in the game. Late in the second half the Cougars lead by six before back to back three-pointers from Kale Misegades allowed the Hornets to tie the score at 52-52 with one minute left in the half. The Hornets picked up a pair of free throws with 35 seconds remaining for a short lived lead when the cougars tied it at 54-54 to send it to overtime. Henning knocked down another three-pointer to take the lead in the overtime period and lead by five with 1:35 remaining. This time to was the Cougars with a pair of buckets with a runner in the lane out of a timeout and a corner three after a defensive stop to tie it at 61-61. The Hornets wound the clock down and after a timeout ran a play with 10 seconds left. On the play a blocking call on the Kale Misegades drive put him to the free throw line where he knocked down both with five seconds remaining. The Cougars drew up a full court out of bounds play that got them a drive to the basket for the tying score but the ball rolled off the rim to give the Hornets the victory. Henning improves to 11-2 and will next face Bertha Hewitt on Thursday. Ada-Borup-West suffers their first loss of the year and drops to 10-1, they travel to Thief River Falls on Tuesday to start a three game week for the Cougars.
