Ada-Borup-West vs. Park Christian

Top Seeded Park Christian scored the final four points over 2:35 to rally and defeat Ada-Borup-West for the third time this season to advance to the Sub-Section Championship game Wednesday night versus Underwood.  Underwood held off Hillcrest Lutheran in the other sub-section semifinal, 76-66.  The loss for Ada-Borup-West  ends the Cougars season record of 19-7.   Park Christian is now 25-3. Ada-Bourp-West started quick , leading y six points until three tie-scores, 13-13, 15-15, 17-17 with Park Christian putting together an 11-0 run.  Ada-Borup-West scored the final four points of the first half in the closing seconds to cut into the deficit with Park Christian leading 29-23 at halftime.  In the second half,  Park Christian would increase their lead to 38-26 as both teams had a difficult time scoring —-   they each scored nine points in the first ten minutes of the second half.  The Cougars were able to get some defensive stops and make some shots as they rallied to take a 43-41 lead with 2:35 remaining.  Park Christian took a time out—  the Cougars got a defensive stop,then turned it over on an inbounds pass— Park Christian had three offensive rebounds before Avery Aakre was fouled and made both free throws with 1:07 to play and a tied score, 43-43.  After the The Cougars did not score, it was Aakre again involved for the Falcons scoring as she had a pass assist to Rebecca Peterson for a short shot under the basket and a 45-43 lead with :16 remaining.  The Cougars had final chances including a three-point field goal attempt that stayed on the rim before falling off with less than one second to play. After a Cougar foul, there was a missed Park Christian free throw and the  last attempt of a full court shot was off and the Falcons advance.
