Aitkin at Pillager

The Pillager Huskies scored a win over the Aitkin Gobblers in a Section 7AA matchup.
Offense was hard to come by in the first half as both teams had turnover issues. Pillager led 10-2 as eight minutes had ticked off the clock.
The Huskies’ finally caught some fire and pushed the lead to 24-9 after a 12-0 run. Pillager would close out the half up 30-13.
Aitkin started the second half with five straight points to cut the lead to twelve, Pillager pushed the lead up to 21, and the Gobblers again battled back. A 13-4 run cut the Huskies’ advantage to 12 again at 48-36 with just under six minutes to play. However, the Gobblers couldn’t sustain the momentum, and Pillager expanded the cushion again, closing out the game with a 20-point victory.
Both teams next travel to Wadena-Deer Creek. Pillager, who climbed to 4-4 on Tuesday, and the Gobblers, now 2-6 take on the Wolverines Thursday.
