Badger/Greenbush-Middle River vs. Goodridge/Grygla

Thief River Falls, MN — The BGMR Gators are headed to the Section 8A Girls Basketball Championship after beating the Goodridge/Grygla Charges 53-30 in the West Sub-Section Championship on Tuesday night.

BGMR lead the entire game however, they won by 23 points but they only lead at halftime by six points. In the first half, the ultra aggressive Gators were getting after it defensively, like they always do, but they were too aggressive at times as they sent the Chargers to the free throw line 15 times but were able to only capitalize on 46% of their first half free throws resulting in the 25-19 halftime score.

In the second half, Goodridge/Grygla couldn’t get the offense started as they would only score 11 points in the entire second half and be outscored 28-11 in the half. BGMR used a 14-3 run to start the half to go up by 17 points and the Chargers could never get their way back into it as they would lose 53-30. BGMR will now play the Fosston Greyhounds in the Section 8A Girls Basketball Championship on Friday at 7 p.m.
