Fertile, MN – The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons overcame an eight-point deficit in the third set to complete a 3-0 sweep of the Bagley Flyers on Thursday night.

The opening set stayed close until the Falcons strung together scoring runs to gain a slim edge. Leading 17-14 out of a Bagley timeout, Fertile-Beltrami closed on an 8-3 run to take the set 25-17.

The Falcons seized control early in set two, racing out to a 9-3 lead and never looking back. With four players combining for 13 kills and four aces, Fertile-Beltrami cruised to a 25-12 win.

Bagley came out strong in the third, jumping ahead 6-1 and stretching the lead to eight. The Falcons chipped away behind their veteran lineup, closing to within 15-18 and forcing a Flyer timeout. Fertile-Beltrami surged ahead 21-20 and finished off the comeback 25-23 to seal the sweep.

The victory marks the Falcons’ 16th straight over Bagley dating back to 2009. Fertile-Beltrami improves to 10-3 and heads to the Barnesville tournament this weekend, while Bagley (7-10) begins a three-game week Monday at Red Lake County Central.
