Bagley at Win-E-Mac

Erskine, MN — The Win E Mac Boys Basketball Team snapped their four game losing streak with a win on Thursday night over the Bagley Flyers 78-64.

The Patriots defensive intensity was a big catalyst to the victory on Thursday night as they were able to take early control of the game 15-4. Bagley would then make an 8-2 run to cut the deficit back to just five points, 17-12. Win E Mac would hold the Flyers at bay for the rest of the first half and then a 7-2 run for the Pats catapulted them to a 44-27 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, things went cold for Win E Mac and Bagley began to warm up. The Flyers would open the half on a 11-4 run cutting the deficit to just twelve, 50-38. From that point, Bagley would scratch and claw their way back into the game slowly chipping away and taking their first lead 61-60. It would take the Flyers outscoring the Patriots 34-16 to reach that point. Despite giving up the large lead they once had, Win E Mac didn’t flinch. The Patriots immediately answered with a basket to take the lead back and closing out the contest on a 12-0 run to secure the 78-64 win.

With the victory, Win E Mac is now 5-10 on the year and will be on the road at Clearbrook-Gonvick on Friday. Bagley falls to 5-10 with the loss and will host Fertile-Beltrami next Tuesday,
