WAUBUN, MN – The Mahnomen-Waubun Thunderbirds (5-4) defeated the Bagley Flyers (0-8), 12-2, in five innings on Tuesday afternoon.

Both teams traded runs for the first two innings, with each team scoring one run in each inning, tied up at 2-2 after two innings. The score would remain the same until the fourth inning, where the Thunderbirds would add five runs on just two hits. Mahnomen-Waubun would follow up their five-run fourth inning with five more runs in the fifth inning.

Mahnomen-Waubun pitcher Dennis Ashley picked up the win, striking out five Flyers and allowing three hits, two walks, and two runs, one earned. Bagley pitcher Beau Gunderson pitched four innings, allowing seven runs on six hits, five walks, and six strikeouts.
