Both teams were looking to avenge their loss from the night before and it showed as they went back and forth early on. A Natalee Hoie 3 trimmed the Red Lake County Central lead to one at 17-16 about halfway through the first half, but that’s when the Mustangs made their move. It was a 16-4 run including a 7-0 run to cap the half thanks to 8 of McKaelyn Frizzle’s 12 first half points coming in that stretch for a 33-20 halftime lead.

Then in the second half it turned into a battle of the Freshman between Red Lake County Central’s Aubrey Halverson and Bagley’s Mazie Hoie. Mazie Hoie did her best to will her team back by putting up 21 second half points including 4 triples for a game high 34 points, but Halverson’s 16 second half points, 12 of which came from the free throw line, ultimately ended up being to much for the Flyers to make a comeback. Bagley got as close as 9 points, but the lead hovered at the halftime deficit of 13 for a good portion of the second half, but ended up in an 11 point victory for Red Lake County Central.

Red Lake County Central improves to 16-5 overall. They’ll enjoy the weekend off after playing 4 games this week before they get back to business back at home on Monday against Win-E-Mac.

Bagley falls to 4-16 on the year. They will visit Lake of the Woods on Monday for their next matchup.

Red Lake County Central also won the JV game 65-17.
