Bemidji at Ada A’s

The Ada A’s stretched their winning streak to four games and ended Bemidji’s win streak at nine Wednesday night as the A’s beat the Blue Ox 4-2 at Tony Sipe Field.

Zephyr Resnick pitched a complete game seven-hitter, allowing two runs, with no walks and five strikeouts.  He finished the game retiring the final eight Bemidji batters.

The A’s opened the scoring in the second inning when Oliver Kritzberger singled to bring in two runs. Ada got another run in the third inning on Blake Fetting’s rbi single.  Bemidji got on the board in the seventh inning on a two run single by Brian Hiller.  The Blue Ox had runners at second and third with two out, but Mitch Hendricks grounded out to end the scoring threat with Ada’s lead cut to 3-2.  Then in the bottom of the seventh, the A’s scored again on Ethan Opsahl’s two out single to make the final score 4-2.

Opsahl went 2 for 4 with an rbi and a run scored for Ada (5-4).

Connor McNallan took the loss for Bemidji (9-1), pitching 8 innings, allowing 6 hits, 4 runs (3 earned), 3 walks and 2 hit batters with 6 strikeouts.  Bazil Zuehlke and Brant Declusion both had 2 hits for the Blue Ox.

The Ada A’s are off until next Wednesday, June 26, when they host Dilworth.
