Clearbrook, MN — The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears defeated the Blackduck Drakes 3-0 on Monday night to advance to the second round of the Section 8A Volleyball Tournament.

The Bears played very clean all night long and rarely had to play while being behind on the scoreboard until the third set when they were down 21-17 but were able to claw back and win the set 25-23 and the match 3-0. The Bears were playing shorthanded without Sophomore Allison LaVine but the Bears had multiple players including Emma Fawver and Makenna Hartwig who both had seven kills. The Bears 3-0 win advances them to the next round against the top seeded Fosston Greyhounds on Thursday.
