Clearbrook, MN — The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears picked up their second win of the season with a 49-46 win over the Blackduck Drakes on Friday night.

Friday nights game was very evenly matched in the sense of offensive firepower. Blackduck got an 18 point night from Sophomore Marisa Mills and Clearbrook-Gonvick’s Allison LaVine scored 22 and grabbed 14 boards. It was free throws down the stretch that allowed Clearbrook-Gonvick to take a late lead to go up by six. But give credit to the Drakes, they did not back down despite the deficit. Blackduck junior Chloe Cook had a wide open look at the top of the key to tie the game in the final possession but couldn’t get it to fall and the final horn sounded giving Clearbrook-Gonvick the three point win. The Bears are now 2-16 on the year and will host Mahnomen/Waubun on Monday. Blackduck, after the loss, falls to 4-12 and will be at Red Lake on Monday.
