Win-E-Mac 28 Ashby/Brandon-Evansville 6

Erskine, MN — The Win E Mac Patriots start their season 1-0 after a 28-6 win over the Ashby-Brandon-Evansville Bolts on Thursday night.

Despite the Patriots committing five turnovers on offense, their defense was able to step up and not allow A-B-E to even reach double digits. It was tough sledding for the Bolts all night long on offense as their lone score came late in the first quarter and they were never able to take advantage of the Win E Mac offensive miscues. One of the two second half scores came when Win E Mac Sophomore Jayden Haugen took the second half kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. Win E Mac would score again with just minutes remaining when the game was out of reach.

With the win, Win E Mac beats Ashby-Brandon-Evansville in their season opener for the second consecutive year. Win E Mac will travel 14 minutes down the road to take on the Fosston Greyhounds in a renewed rivalry game next week (1489 AM/99.7 FM KKCQ). For Ashby-Brandon-Evansville, they will host Rothsay next week.
