Recap

The Northern Lakes Lightning dominated visiting Breckenridge/Wahpeton, scoring five goals in each period on their way to a decisive victory.

The goal wasn’t in the net until over nine minutes passed in the first period, but once that goal broke the egg on the scoreboard, the Lightning flashed time and time again. Jamison St. Clair tallied the first of the night with a power play goal. Logan Verville scored twice and Karter Lee and Colton Craig also scored in the first.

Scoring in the second period for the Lightning were Darby Boelter (2 goals), Verville to capture the first hat trick of the night, and Colton Craig went back-to-back, including a shortie to also garner a hat trick.

In the third, Craig scored his third straight goal for four on the night, St. Clair added his second, and wrapping up the goals were Taylor Berg, Cullen Kratochvil and Zach Ehnstrom.

The goals for Lee and Kratochvil were their first varsity goals. Boelter, Berg and St. Clair each had four point nights, and Christian Crutcher added three assists.

The Blades couldn’t muster much at all in terms of an offensive rush, as Northern Lakes outshot them 59-3 in the game.

The Lightning have won six straight versus the Blades, improving to 4-2 on the year. They play Tuesday-Thursday at the Little Falls Holiday Classic. Breckenridge/Wahpeton is 0-5 and will host their first B/W Holiday Classic Tuesday & Wednesday.
