In a back-and-forth contest from the opening tip, the Carrington Cardinals earned a road win on Monday night against the Maple River Raiders.

Carter Baasch hit a baseline runner to put Maple River up 55-54, only to see the Carrington Cardinals get to the free-throw line on the ensuing possession.

Hudson Schmitz made both attempts from the line in the final seconds to propel the Cardinals to a 56-55 win. Carrington finished 14-of-15 from the line as a team and Schmitz had 16 points. The Cardinals host #4 Sargent County on Friday.

Caleb Kocka paced Maple River with 17 points (5 three-pointers) as the Raiders dropped to 2-9 overall. Maple River plays at Hankinson for a Region 1 contest on Thursday night on yourliveevent.com.
