Carrington 61, Thompson 50

Carrington held Thompson to 25 percent shooting in the second half as the Cardinals defeated the fifth ranked Tommies 61-50 in the Class A Region 2 semifinals Tuesday at Mayville State University.

Freshman Marah Johnson had 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead four Cardinals in double figures.  Kaydence VanRay and Aniston Hoornaert both had 10 points and 6 boards with Edyn Hoornaert also scoring 10.

Addison Sage scored 19 points for Thompson (18-5).

Carrington (17-5) will take on Devils Lake for the Region 2 Championship Thursday night at Mayville State.

Thompson and Grafton square off Thursday for third place and a chance to stay in the running for the State Tournament.

Rebounds: Carrington 38, Thompson 27.
