Carrington 3, Thompson 0  (25-21, 25-19, 25-20)

Carrington used a balanced attack to defeat Thompson in three straight sets Thursday night in Thompson. The scores were 25-21, 25-19 and 25-20.

Sophomore Calleigh Hewitt had 13 kills to lead the Cardinals (2-0) with Isabel Wendel adding 9 and Mercedes Lura 6.

Junior Danica Gross and senior Jordyn Tozer had 6 kills apiece to lead Thompson (0-1).  Gross also had 2 blocks.  Kiley Huebner had 2 kills and 3 aces for the Tommies.

Carrington’s next game is Thursday, Sept. 12 at Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier.

Thompson will play in Saturday’s Volley in the Valley at Central Cass and then host Langdon Area this coming Tuesday.
