Cass Lake-Bena 90 Red Lake 64

Red Lake, MN — The Cass Lake-Bena Panthers improved to 13-8 on the season after their 90-64 win over the Red Lake Warriors on Monday night in Red Lake.

Coach Martin Wind wanted to emphasize his team taking care of the basketball and forcing turnovers from Red Lake. Well the Panthers were able to do just that forcing the Warriors into 23 total turnovers and only turnover the ball over themselves a total of 8 times. While turning the ball over 12 times in the first half, Red Lake was able to cut the Panthers lead to just 15 at the break but halftime was probably the best thing that happened for the Panthers as they were able to regroup and make adjustments in the locker room on their way to a 90-64 win.

Cass Lake-Bena is now 13-8 with just four games left in the regular season. They will play their next game on Friday when they go to Blackduck. Red Lake falls to 3-15 on the season and will be at home tomorrow (Tuesday 2/14) where they will host the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears (96.7 FM KKCQ)
