Central Cass 3, Thompson 2 (25-17, 25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 15-10)

In a warmup before next week’s North Dakota Class B region volleyball playoffs, 10th-ranked Central Cass scored a five set victory over Thompson in Thompson.

The Squirrels (24-10) were led by Avah Cotton with 16 kills, Isabelle Thompson with 14, Aspyn Prien with 12 and Olivia Ellenson with 11 kills.  Kendra Braaten also served 5 aces for Central Cass.

Abigail Olson had 11 kills, plus one solo block and 3 block assists for Thompson (19-15).  Andie Schwab had 10 kills and an ace for the Tommies, while Kiley Huebner and Jordyn Tozer had 8 kills apiece and Tozer also had a solo block and 3 block assists.

Both teams will enter their respective region playoffs on Monday.  Central Cass will play either Sargent County or Lisbon in the Region 1 playoffs in Kindred.  Thompson will face Park River/Fordville-Lankin Monday afternoon in Grafton.
