After finishing 0-9 just two years ago, the Fosston Greyhounds find themselves at 9-0 this season after a 28-8 win over Clearbrook-Gonvick Saturday afternoon at Thompson Field in Fosston. Will Christen scored two touchdowns for Fosston as the Greyhounds move into the Section 9-Man Championship game on Thursday, October 31st (2:00 pm at the Fargodome). The two touchdowns for Christen were his first of the season. The Greyhounds and Fertile-Beltrami both enter the championship game with 9-0 records and did not play each other during the regular season. The Greyhounds grabbed the lead with 3:02 left in the first quarter when Jakob Rudie hit Will Christen with a 7 yard touchdown pass. The Bears grabbed the lead with 10:33 left in the second quarter when Hasani Bruton scored on a 5 yard run and with the two point conversion the Bears led 8-6. Fosston would take the lead for good with 6:54 left in the 2nd quarter when Rudie scored on an 11 yard run. Ryne Duppong scored the other Fosston touchdown with an 8 yard run with 34 seconds left in the third quarter. Duppong carried the ball 18 times for 124 yards while Brydin Daniel carried the ball 14 times for 115 yards for Fosston. The Bears end their season at 3-7 after making it to the Section championship game last year. It was the second win for the Greyhounds over the Bears this season with Fosston winning at Clearbrook-Gonvick 29-18 on September 20th.
