Grygla, MN — The Goodridge/Grygla Chargers beat the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears Friday night 32-8 to improve to 5-0 on the season.

The first quarter had the makings of a defensive battle as neither team moved the ball particularly well and the first 12 minutes ended 0-0. The second quarter is when the Chargers Running Back duo of Shay and Sawyer Jacobson, brothers, came alive. Shay would find the endzone twice in the period both from 13 yards to take a 16-0 lead and older brother Sawyer Jacobson ran in touchdown from 55 yards to make it 24-0 at half. Clearbrook-Gonvick would take the second half kickoff and go 52 yards for a touchdown to trim the lead 24-8. The Bears were then hopeful for a quick defensive stop to get the ball back, but that hope was short lived as Chargers Running Back Sawyer Jacobson would score his second touchdown of the night from 82 yards on the first play of the second half for the G/G Offense to make it 32-8 and that’s how the game would end.

Goodridge/Grygla is now 5-0 on the season and will travel to Kittson County Central next week, 3:30 pm kickoff. The last time Goodridge/Grygla started a season 5-0 was back in 2012, and they won the Section 8 9-Man Football Championship that year. For Clearbrook-Gonvick, they dropped their 3rd game in a row falling to 1-4 on the year and will travel to Win E Mac next week to take on the Patriots.
