Climax/Fisher at East Grand Forks Sacred Heart

East Grand Forks, MN — The Sacred Heart Eagles advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Section 8A Volleyball playoffs on Friday night after their 3-0 sweep of the Climax/Fisher Knights.

The first set was tight in the early going but Sacred Heart would use their aggressive attack and took advantage of the Knights hitting errors to take a 17-10 lead and close it out 25-16.

Set two was all Sacred Heart. Their attack was at full force recording 14 kills between three players and the Eagles would cruise to the 25-6 win.

In set three it was evident that the Eagles took their foot off the gas some. Climax/Fisher would use the opportunity to dial up their own offensive attack with 8th Grader Brooklyn Hoffman eliminating the volleyball six times and giving the Knights the 19-18 lead late. After a timeout, Sacred Heart would score seven of the final ten points to secure the 25-22 set win and 3-0 match victory.

With the win Sacred Heart will take a 28-1 record into the Section Semifinals on Tuesday where they will take on the Fertile-Beltrami Falcons. For Climax/Fisher, their season ends with a 17-11 record and will graduate just three seniors.
