Climax/Fisher 3 vs. Fosston 1
(25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-17)

Fosston, MN — The Climax/Fisher Knights secured a strong early season Pine to Prairie Conference win Tuesday night, defeating the Fosston Greyhounds 3–1.

The opening set stayed tight past the midway point, with Climax/Fisher edging ahead 16-15 before ripping off a decisive 7–1 run to take control at 23–17. Fosston pushed back late, but the Knights closed out the frame 25-21.

Set two belonged to the Greyhounds early, as they opened with four straight points and steadily built a 20–11 advantage. Climax/Fisher refused to fade, mounting an 11-3 surge to pull within 23-20. The comeback stalled there, though, as a Knights error allowed Fosston to finish the set 25-21.

In the third, Fosston again appeared in command, leading 14-8 and threatening to widen the gap. But Knights freshman Brooklyn Hoffman took over, hammering down eight kills in the set and fueling an 11-0 Climax/Fisher run that flipped the score to 19-14. That momentum carried the Knights through the rest of the frame, securing a 25-19 win.

Fosston opened the fourth set with another fast start, jumping ahead 5-0. Climax/Fisher responded with an 8-3 stretch to tighten the score, then claimed the lead for good at 14-13. The Knights controlled the remainder of the set, finishing off the match with a 25-17 victory.

Climax/Fisher improves to 2-0 and will next compete at the Ruth Hayden Tournament of Roses on Saturday at Ada‑Borup‑West. Fosston drops to 1-1 and travels to Mahnomen/Waubun on Thursday.
