Brielle Duppong scored 30 points as the Fosston Greyhounds rallied for a 54-48 win over the Crookston Pirates Monday night in Fosston. Crookston used a 17-0 run in the first half to give them a 25-16 lead but Hannah Fonder hit a clutch three pointer just before halftime to bring the Greyhounds to within two points at halftime 27-25. Duppong hit five 3 pointers and was 9 for 11 at the free throw line. Miley Hove added 9 points and Lexy Illies 7 points for Fosston as the Greyhounds improve to 9-6 overall. It was just the second game in 17 days for Fosston as they were trying to bounce back after a 52-48 loss at Blackduck in their most recent game.. Chloe Boll led Crookston with 22 points and 18 rebounds for Crookston as the Pirates fall to 4-13 overall. Boll will be playing college basketball next season at UMC in Crookston. It was the seventh loss in the last eight games for Crookston. The game was tied at 45-45 with 2:36 remaining in the game and Fosston took the lead for good at 49-48. Brooklyn Waldal added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Pirates. Crookston won the “B” Squad game over Fosston 25-18. The Greyhounds will return to action on Tuesday, January 27th when they play a makeup game at Lake Park-Audubon (at Audubon). The Pirates will return to action on Friday, January 30th when they travel to Climax to face the Climax/Fisher Knights.
