Devils Lake at Thompson

It was a top-five showdown in Class A Girls Basketball Friday night as the top-ranked Thompson Tommies hosted #4 Devils Lake. From the get-go the Tommies proved they’re worthy of a top ranking with a convincing 50-29 victory over the Firebirds. Thompson opened the game on a 6-0 run and never looked back, stretching the lead to 14 at the end of the first quarter. The final three quarters were relatively even, but Thompson outscored DL in each of them still. Addison Sage led the Tommies with 18 while Brenna Martin (12 pts, 10 rebs) and Kya Hurst (11 pts, 10 rebs) both finished with double-doubles. Presley Brown led Devils Lake with eleven. The Tommies stay undefeated at 13-0 and will begin a three-game road trip at East Grand Forks on Tuesday. Devils Lake drops to 9-4 and goes from one key Region 2 matchup to another as they host Carrington on Tuesday.
