Devils Lake vs Hillsboro/Central Valley

Recap

Devils Lake outlasts Hillsboro/Central Valley in 5-set thriller

Monday night’s Region 2A contest between the Firebirds and Burros went the distance after the Burros took sets 1 & 4 while the Firebirds got sets 2 & 3. Kinley Johnson of Devils Lake and Malia Bryl of HCV led their teams in kills but the block from both teams made positive adjustments and led to a number of long rallies throughout the night. The teams traded the lead in the 5th set and were tied at 11 before a 3-0 run fueled by Firebirds setter Riley Remmick sneaking a 2nd touch onto Burros territory and followed it up with an Ace before putting the finishing touch on the match.

Devils Lake bests Hillsboro/Central Valley in 5 for the 2nd time this season and stays in 2nd in Region 2A while HCV is still in search of their first region win.

17-25, 25-22, 25-12, 20-25, 15-9
