Devils Lake 64, Northern Cass 42

Devils Lake forced 40 turnovers as the Firebirds advanced to the Class A Girls Basketball semifinals Thursday with a 64-42 victory over Northern Cass at Minot State University.

There were four ties and four lead changes in the opening quarter, but the Firebirds caught fire…jumping to a 32-21 halftime lead and keeping Northern Cass tied in knots.

Freshman Tylie Brodina led Devils Lake with 23 points and 7 steals.  Presley Brown added 13 points.

Josie Jensen had 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocked shots for Northern Cass, with teammate Haidyn Crockett adding 15 on 3/15 shooting.

Northern Cass (17-8) plays Bottineau in the consolation round Friday afternoon at 1pm.

Devils Lake (19-6) meets Valley City in the semifinals Friday night at Minot State.
