the top-seeded Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels wothstood a late rally by the Menahga Braves to hold on for the 48-46 win to advance to the 8AA Section Championship game. The opening half was back and forth with nine lead changes before the Menahga defense pressured the Rebels into turnovers and took advantage to score and build a 27-20 halftime advantage. But the Rebel’s responded out of halftime with back to back three-pointers to spark a 10-2 run that gave them a lead at 30-29 with 14:33 remaining. The Rebels continued to build and were up 46-36with six minutes remaining. The Braves rallied down the stretch with their defense only allowing one more made basket in the final six minutes and bringing the lead down to two-points inside the final minute. The Rebels inbounds pass with 8.3 seconds remaining was stolen away by Menahga as they headed down the court in transition with the game tying layup in sight. However Aria Garrett ran step for step down the court and blocked the layup out of bounds. Menahga would get one final attempt with less than four seconds remaining they inbounded the ball on their baseline, got the pass into the lane and the shot off, but the ball missed off the rim and the DGF Rebels held on for the 48-46 victory.
