Hankinson vs Oakes – District 1 Boys Basketball Tournament Championship

VALLEY CITY, Oakes used a flurry of three-pointers to win their second straight District 1 championship over Hankinson on Tuesday night.

Oakes shot 13-of-21 from the three-point line as Beau Thorpe scored a team-high 30 points (6 three-pointers). Oakes heads to the Region 1B Tournament as the #1 seed from District 1 and will play Kidder County at 3 p.m. on Monday in Valley City.

RaeShaun Earl set a Hankinson school record with 57 points in the loss. Earl shot 21-of-46 from the floor with 12 rebounds. The Pirates matchup with Medina-Pingree/Buchanan on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Region Tournament. You can listen to both games on yourliveevent.com.
