Oakes defeated Richland 55-38 in a Region 1 girls basketball qualifier on Monday night in Wahpeton.
Brianna Schmitz scored 17 points and grabbed 9 in rebounds as Oakes will play LaMoure-Litchville/Marion in the Region 1 quarterfinals on Monday, February 19 in Jamestown.
Lillian Miranowski and Alayna Schmitt had 14 points each for Richland. The Colts finished 8-14 overall on the season.
