Thompson 73, Drayton/Valley-Edinburg 19

Thompson’s boys basketball team won its seventh consecutive game Monday, defeating Drayton/Valley-Edinburg 73-19 in Thompson.

The sixth-ranked Tommies (North Dakota Class B) scored the game’s first ten points on their way to a 32-8 first quarter lead and could not be caught.  Thompson’s defense forced 24 turnovers and held the Titans scoreless in the second quarter.

Jake Starcevic scored 16 points for Thompson, with Drew Overby and Brayden Wolfgram adding 15 apiece.  The Tommies are now 10-3 overall and 7-0 against Region 2 opposition.

Connor Hurtt scored five to lead Drayton/Valley-Edinburg.  The Titans are now 3-9 on the season and 2-5 in Region 2 play.
