EGF Sacred Heart at Red Lake Falls

Red Lake Falls, MN — The Red Lake Falls Eagles Softball team defeated East Grand Forks Sacred Heart Thursday night 12-3 to advance to the Section 8A Semifinals.

Sacred Heart got the scoring started right away in the 1st  with back to back doubles from Blake Brockpahler and Jenson Stinar making it 1-0. Red Lake Falls head a response capitalizing on a Sacred Heart throwing error putting two girls in scoring position. Ava Seeger drove them both in with a sharp base hit giving Red Lake Falls the 2-0 lead after the 1st inning. Red Lake Falls would score four more times in the second inning, three of those runs off the bat of Kylie Klipping who sent home run over the left field fence pushing the lead to 6-1 after four innings. Red Lake Falls would score two more in the 5th and four more in the 6th cementing the 12-3 win.

In the circle for Red Lake Falls, Kylie Klipping was stellar. Coming into the game with over 160 strikeouts on the season, the Senior fanned 14 more batters and pitched all seven innings giving up just three runs.

Red Lake Falls is now 22-4 on the season and will play BGMR in the Section Semifinals next Tuesday in Red Lake Falls.
