The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons handed the #5 ranked Fosston Greyhounds their first loss of the season 51-44 Friday night at the Fosston Gym. The Greyhounds led at halftime 30-27 but were held to 14 points in the second half. Josie Iverson led the Falcons with 22 points as Fertile-Beltrami picked up their 11th straight win and improved to 13-2 overall and 7-1 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Tori Erickson pitched in with 10 points and 5 rebounds for Fertile-Beltrami. The Greyhounds defeated the Falcons in Fertile 55-43 back on December 8th so the two teams split their regular season series with each winning on the others home court. Kinsley Duppong led Fosston with 19 points with all of those points coming in the first half. Brynlea Mahlen added 13 points and 9 rebounds for Fosston as the Greyhounds fall to 11-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference. The Greyhounds led by as many as nine in the first half at 28-19 but the Falcons were able to string together a 14-2 run to end the first half and start the second half. Kasia Wilson hit a big three pointer to give the Falcons a 42-37 lead and they would never trail again.
