Fertile-Beltrami vs. Cromwell-Wright Area

Moorhead, MN — The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons punched their tickets to the Minnesota State 9-Man Football Semifinal after beating the Cromwell-Wright Area Cardinals 48-7 Thursday night.

The scoring got started early for Fertile-Beltrami. Isaiah Wright took the very first play of the game 74 yards for a touchdown giving Fertile-Beltrami an immediate 8-0 lead. The Cromwell-Wright offense could hardly do anything against the stingy Falcons defense, as they turned the football over twice and scored their only touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Fertile-Beltrami would go up 14-0 with still 8:01 to go in the first quarter after a 33 yard touchdown pass from Easton Petry to Bryer Strem.

In the second quarter, three more rushing touchdowns were scored for Fertile-Beltrami. Easton Petry from 1-yard on a QB sneak, Jonah Harstad from 12 yards and Isaiah Wright from 53 yards. Fertile-Beltrami would lead 34-0 at the half.

In half number two Isaiah Wright would find the endzone twice more, one from 73 yards and another from 69 yards making the score 48-0 at the end of the third quarter. Cromwell-Wright would score their only touchdown of the game with 5:36 to go in the 4th quarter with a 3-yard TD from Brady Dahl. Fertile-Beltrami wins 48-7.

With the win, Fertile-Beltrami will play in the Minnesota State 9-Man Football Semi-Finals next Thursday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Downtown Minneapolis, and will take an 11-0 record into the game.
