Fertile-Beltrami vs. Fosston The Fosston Greyhounds survived a furious rally from Fertile-Beltrami and the Greyhounds moved on in the Section 8A Tournament with a 43-35 victory in Thief River Falls. The Greyhounds led 36-24 in the second half but the Falcons used an 11-0 run to draw to within one point at 36-35. The Falcons would not score again and the Greyhounds ended the game on a 9-0 run. Katelyn Vesledahl and Kinsey Duppong each scored 16 points for Fosston as the Greyhounds improve to 23-3 overall. Duppong hit four three pointers for Fosston. Brooklyn Strem hit four triples for the Falcons and scored 12 points as Fertile-Beltrami ends their season at 21-7. The two teams had split their two regular season games against each other. Josie Iverson and Tori Erickson each scored 8 points for the Falcons. Fosston will now play Cass Lake-Bena in the 8A semifinals on Tuesday, March 7th at Thief River Falls (6:00 pm on 96.7 FM and YLE). The Greyhounds defeated the Panthers 64-51 at Cass Lake on February 21st.
